Nestled in the scenic Piedmont region of Virginia, just east of the Blue Ridge Mountains and west of the fall line, Barrel Oak Winery & Brewery has grown into one of the Commonwealth’s most beloved destination wineries. Founded in 2006 on a Delaplane farm, Barrel Oak spans about 30 acres of vineyards with a focus on both traditional Vitis vinifera grapes and French-American hybrids.
In 2022, the winery was acquired by Kavelle and Ken Bajaj, local to Upperville, Virginia. They’ve carried forward Barrel Oak’s commitment to quality, hospitality, and stewardship of the land. The tasting room is more than just a wine-and-beer hall. It serves as a gathering place for the community, where visitors are invited to “sip the fruits of our land,” enjoy the views, and engage with the landscape and the people behind the wines, and as of 2016, the beers.
Barrel Oak has received numerous awards over the years, been voted “Best Winery” multiple times locally and earned recognition for being family-friendly. Our guest speaker, Marc Herman, Certified Sommelier (CMS) and Advanced Wine Sommelier (IWG), brings nearly 20 years of wine industry expertise, holds an Executive MBA in Wine Business from Sonoma State University, and enjoys mushroom foraging in his spare time! Guests will enjoy six courses of hand-selected wines expertly paired with chef-driven creations.
