Founded in 2005 by left-handed couple Sarah and Sparky Marquis in McLaren Vale, South Australia, Mollydooker (“lefty” in Australian slang) quickly became renowned for its unique style and celebration of individuality. Mollydooker specializes in rich reds—primarily Shiraz, Cabernet, and Merlot—bold, opulent and fruit-forward.
Their debut Carnival of Love Shiraz (2005) earned 99 points from Robert Parker, sold out in days, and continues to appear in Wine Spectator’s global Top 10 list. They’ve garnered five more 99-point scores for wines like Velvet Glove Shiraz, Enchanted Path, and Blue Eyed Boy Cabernet—proof of their intense, highly concentrated style.
Our guest speaker, Pat Ladd, will guide us through a tasting of five wines, thoughtfully paired with complementing chef-driven selections. Pat Ladd is the Eastern U.S. Sales Manager for Mollydooker Wines and proudly calls Niceville, Florida home. With nearly two decades of industry experience, Pat got his start with a Florida-based distributor before making the leap to the supplier side in 2018. In August of 2021, he brought his passion and expertise to Mollydooker and hasn’t looked back since. He’s known for building strong relationships, bringing energy to every interaction, and championing bold wines with bold stories.
